The KW V4 as a retrofit alternative for those who couldn't order the RS Sport Suspension Pro for their Audi RS4 Avant and Audi RS5 (Coupé and Sportback)

Whether the Audi RS Sport Suspension Pro or the KW V4 coilovers by KW Suspensions, you'll experience pure driving dynamics and convincing Audi performance with both suspension options. Especially for drivers who didn't go for the RS Sport Suspension Pro included in the Audi Competition Plus Package at the time of vehicle purchase, KW V4 coilovers are now available as an alternative. Long-time KW customers know we prioritize the perfect balance between sportiness and comfort. Both the RS Sport Suspension Pro and our KW coilovers and springs allow for continuous lowering, giving the Audi RS5 Coupé or Sportback (Type B9, B8) and the Audi RS4 Avant (Type B9, B8) an even sportier appearance. Our products are available for all mentioned models with or without Dynamic Ride Control (DRC).

V4 Technology in the Audi RS4 Avant and RS5 Coupé + Sportback for Maximum Driving Pleasure

Our KW V4 is the ideal retrofit option for those who still need to choose the Competition Plus Package when configuring their sporty Audi. Within our proven V4 technology, both rebound (low-speed/high-speed) and compression can be adjusted separately.

Through extensive testing at our headquarters in Fichtenberg, we evaluate our technologies on our in-house 7-post rig and real test tracks. This ensures building a suspension that functions flawlessly in theory and practice.

Rebound Adjustment within our KW coilover kit

Rebound is adjusted with 16 clicks at the upper end of the piston rod. It significantly influences the ride comfort of a car, affecting how quickly the piston rod compresses and extends, consequently relaxing the springs. Those who prefer faster compression open the rebound valve, while those who prefer a firmer ride close it.

Compression Adjustment in the Low-Speed and High-Speed Range

Within our KW V4 technology, low-speed and high-speed compression can be fine-tuned with 13 clicks. This allows the driver to determine the vehicle's characteristics during cornering and how it executes body roll movements. With the compression valve open, the vehicle compresses faster; with the valve closed, the opposite occurs.

What happens inside the car?

Choosing a KW coilover kit comes with numerous dynamic driving advantages. The perfectly balanced blend of comfort and sportiness stabilizes the vehicle's chassis, reliably absorbing road irregularities. The unpleasant rocking of the car is prevented through a corresponding damping setup. During acceleration, braking, or cornering, the coilovers reduce the pitching and rolling of the car. Additionally, a continuous lowering of 5 to 30 millimeters at the front axle and 10 to 30 millimeters at the rear axle is possible within the KW V4. This lowers the vehicle's center of gravity, improving road handling.

The V4 technology also excels on the racetrack. On the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the Audi RS4 Avant with the Competition Plus Package takes only 7:39.35 minutes. That's almost 20 seconds faster than the RS4! Whether RS Sport Suspension Pro or KW V4 coilovers, Both dynamic driving solutions offer the ideal balance between comfort and sportiness. Thanks to its manual adjustability, customers can modify their driving experience to personal preferences.

Another Alternative: The KW V3 for the Audi RS4 Avant (Type B9, B8), Audi RS5 Coupé and Sportback (Type B9, B8)

If you don't need setup options in the high-speed range or desire a stylish lowering, our KW V3 coilovers might be the perfect retrofit option for your Audi RS4 Avant or RS5 Coupé/Sportback.

After installation, the driver can further adjust the KW V3 coilover kit with stainless steel housing in both low-speed compression and low-speed rebound. This allows the driver to determine how quickly the damper compresses and extends during slow damper movements.

Lowering with KW V3 and V4 for RS4 Avant and RS5 Coupé/Sportback

  • Audi RS4 Avant: Front Axle 15-35 mm / Rear Axle 20-40 mm
  • Audi RS5 Coupé: Front Axle 5-25 mm / Rear Axle 5-25 mm
  • Audi RS5 Sportback: Front Axle 10-30 mm / Rear Axle 10-30 mm

KW height-adjustable springs for customers who want to keep the adaptive damping system in their Audi RS4 Avant (Type B9, B8) and Audi RS5 Coupé and Sportback (Type B9, B8)

Lowering springs from other manufacturers often allow only a predetermined vehicle lowering. In contrast, our KW height-adjustable springs are variable in the level of lowering. The verified adjustment range for the Audi RS4 Avant is 5 to 25 millimeters at the front axle and 5 to 30 millimeters at the rear axle. The RS5 Coupé version can be continuously lowered by 0 to 20 millimeters at the front and 0 to 25 millimeters at the rear. The Sportback model allows lowering from 5 to 25 millimeters at the front axle and 0 to 25 millimeters at the rear axle.

The KW height-adjustable springs harmonize with their spring rate, always in line with the adaptive damping control system. All driver assistance systems and the comfort function of the Dynamic Ride Control Sport Suspension in the Audi RS4 Avant and Audi RS5 (Coupé and Sportback) remain intact. After installing the springs, the vehicles gain even sportier handling characteristics.
