Coilover kit by KW for the BMW 325iX and other E30 models
In 1985, the BMW 325iX was the first serial vehicle by the Bavarian automotive manufacturer that drove with all-wheel drive. Today, the 170 HP 3-series BMW has become a popular old-timer. We are happy to announce that we now offer a matching coilover kit for this car. In our product range specializing in vintage cars and old-timers, we carry numerous coilover kits that give an old car a “like-new” ride – without sacrificing the special character of the car. The BMW comes with a 5-speed manual transmission but is also available with automatic transmission if desired.
But why do old-timer owners decide on a KW coilover kit? The reason is simple: The tire structure has dramatically evolved in the past years. With the 325iX for example, this causes that the old suspension technology doesn’t harmonize with modern tires anymore. Therefore, we developed coilover kits with parts approval (TÜV documents) for classic cars and old-timers.
For the BMW E30 with all-wheel drive, we now offer our KW Classic V3 coilover kit. It helps to support the BMW even more in its already sporty driving characteristic. Moreover, the V3 connects the vehicle to the street and stabilizes the sedan in curves. In contrast to other E30 models with a rear-axle drive or the BMW M3, the BMW type E30 with 4WD needs its original steel-galvanized suspension struts at the front axle to retrofit the car with a modern coilover kit. However, other 3-series BMWs can use our black-galvanized steering knuckles instead.
Our suspension technology is based on our innovative KW multi-valve technology. Here, a modern tire characteristic within tuning of the shock absorber is possible. Additionally, the coilover kit has pre-configured highspeed valves in the compression and rebound valves. Here, the highspeed valves open extra channels to enable more flowing of hydraulic fluid. This causes better traction on the street.
We also offer coilover kits for other classic cars. This way, the BMW E30 with rear-axle drive and the BMW M3 can be retrofitted with our KW V1 and V3 coilovers. In contrast to the V3, an individual adjustment in damping characteristic with the KW V1 isn’t possible.
The KW V3 is set in the rebound within 16 clicks and in the compression within 12 clicks. Both adjustment wheels are independent of each other. Both at the front axle as well as at the rear axle, the 325iX can be lowered from 30 to 50 millimeters. Other BMW E30 models with rear-axle drive allow a lowering of 60 to 80 millimeters at the front axle and 55 to 80 millimeters at the rear axle. The BMW M3 built from 1986 to 1992 can be lowered 25 to 55 millimeters on both axles. All our coilover kits come with a parts approval.
