Improved Driving Dynamics and Lowering Options for Your Tesla Model 3 and Model Y
Explore the KW V1, KW V3, and KW V3 Leveling
When one thinks of electric cars, Tesla comes immediately to mind. The Californian automaker has specialized in the production of electric vehicles. With the Model Y and Model 3, CEO Elon Musk and his team introduced electric vehicles that are practical and stylish for everyday use. KW Suspensions has already developed coilover solutions for electric vehicles. Because even electrically powered vehicles benefit from a KW dynamic upgrade. You'll find the right suspension with us, whether you prefer a sporty and firm ride or a comfortable one. In addition to our popular KW V3 coilovers, we offer the entry-level product KW V1 and the comfortable, height-adjustable KW V3 Leveling. The products suit Tesla models with rear and all-wheel drive (including the facelift Model Y, Type 005). Each suspension comes with adjustment instructions and a parts certificate.
Stepless Lowering and Improved Cornering Stability
With KW V1 or KW V3 coilovers, the vehicle benefits from visually appealing lowering. For models with rear-wheel drive (including facelift), lowering 30 to 55 millimeters is possible at the front axle and 25 to 50 millimeters at the rear axle. All-wheel-drive models (including facelift) can be lowered by 25 to 50 millimeters on both axles. Stepless lowering not only looks appealing but also has a dynamic advantage. Our tests showed that it increases the range of the Tesla Model 3 by 7% due to the lowered center of gravity. The vehicle's stability improves immensely thanks to a perfectly tuned damping setup. So, decide on the KW V1 or KW V3 to get the most out of your Tesla. Even with maximum lowering, the pre-configured KW high-speed valves ensure harmonious damping.
High-Quality Materials for Longevity
With KW coilovers, you'll enjoy years of driving pleasure. Thanks to spring struts coated with a stainless-steel alloy (Inox line), your coilovers withstand moisture, cold, and dirt over several years. This allows you to adjust the lowering of your KW coilover suspension at any time.
Comparing Tesla Coilover Suspensions by KW
The Entry-Level Suspension: KW V1
Out now for Tesla models! If you want to reduce the ground clearance of your Tesla Model Y or Model 3 and don't care about adjusting the damping setup, the KW V1 is the perfect solution. The V1 coilover is an affordable alternative to the V3. It offers the same lowering as the KW V3. The damper tuning is based on the basic tuning of the KW V3 coilovers. In comparison, due to its simplified valve technology, the KW V1 must make a few manageable compromises in performance.
The All-Rounder: KW V3 Coilovers
The KW V3 for Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y allows a post-installation adjustment of the damping setup. Lowering is also possible. In addition to the non-adjustable high-speed valves, the driver can adjust the KW V3 (13 times) in low speed compression and the low speed rebound (17 times) after installation. Depending on whether the low speed bypass channel of the damper is opened or closed, the driving characteristics of the electric car are more comfortable or firmer. This influences the Tesla body's tendency to pitch and roll less during cornering, acceleration, or braking. This subjectively and objectively increases driving safety.
The Suspension with Subtle Lowering: KW V3 Leveling
Suppose you don't want to stand out with maximum lowering but still want to benefit from the characteristics of a KW suspension. In that case, the KW V3 Leveling from our "Street Comfort" product line offers precisely that possibility. The coilovers combine the proven KW V3 technology with stepless height adjustment. It is suitable for drivers who do not want lowering. Especially in areas with steep garage entrances or speed bumps, the V3 Leveling is just right. You don't have to worry about damage to the underbody and can drive your vehicle over road irregularities at average speed. The damping characteristics are identical to those of the KW V3.
According to the parts certificate, the following height adjustments are possible:
- Tesla Model 3 (AWD): Front and rear axle: Lowering up to 20 mm, raising up to 5 mm
- Tesla Model 3 (RWD): Front axle: Lowering up to 25 mm, no raising possible / Rear axle: Lowering up to 25 mm, raising up to 5 mm
- Tesla Model Y (AWD): Front and rear axle: Lowering up to 20 mm, raising up to 5 mm
- Tesla Model Y (RWD): Front axle: Lowering up to 25 mm, no raising possible / Rear axle: Lowering up to 25 mm, raising up to 5 mm
